Philosophy

Questions of metaphysics, both in a contemporary and historical perspective; including, among others, issues about the freedom of the will and ancient philosophy of nature; the philosophy of mind, with special focus on arguments against physicalism and externalism;moral and political philosophy.

Registration

Within the next few days registration will open for the conference.  If you have a change of plans after registering, we will try to accommodate you, provided that you contact us before June 1.  After June 1 we can only refund membership fees, but not conference fees, in the event that you cannot attend.

HOPOS Call for Proposals

Deadline for submissions: 15 December 2009

The conference is open to scholarly work on the history of philosophy of science from any disciplinary perspective. Submissions of abstracts of papers of approximately 25-30 minutes' reading length, and of symposia of three to four thematically related papers will be considered for the program.

CEU can offer a block of rooms in its dormitory at its dormitory on Kerepesi Avenue, about 35 minutes’ commute from the main campus:

  • single rooms: 32 Euro/night incl. buffet breakfast

HOPOS Conference Program

The preliminary program will be posted in spring 2010.

Registration will begin at mid-day on Thursday, June 24, in the Octagon area adjacent to the main entrance to the CEU campus.
